Neptunea cf aurigena apeliota, Fraussen & Terryn 2007

Voici une paire de Neptunea trouvées sur un Trucs & Puces Breton (Melgwen) que je mets cf aurigena apeliota ! J' ai soumis ces deux coquilles à la sagacité de mes amis du Forum qui eux même (Zonatus ) a communiqué ces images au cador des Buccinidae, j' ai nommé Koen Fraussen, spécialiste de la famille. Sa réponse : "Oui, me semble des Neptunea despecta.  Norvège ou Mer Barentz?  Peut-être Newfoundland. Alors “North Atlantic”... A première vue, la forme et la taille semble que ce soit le Neptunea vinlandica de Newfoundland, mais la sculpture ne correspond pas avec cette espèce." Effectivement la sculpture ne correspond à aucune des deux espèces citées. Par contre une série de photos dans le site Femorale sont très ressemblantes. Taille: 125 & 130 mm.

Here is a couple of Neptunea found on a Breton Trucs & Puces (Melgwen) that I put cf aurigena apeliota! I submitted these two shells to the sagacity of my friends from the Forum who themselves (Zonatus) communicated these images to the head of Buccinidae, I named Koen Fraussen, specialist of the family. His answer: "Yes, it seems to me that it is Neptunea despecta. Norway or Barents Sea? Maybe Newfoundland. So "North Atlantic"... At first glance, the shape and size seem to indicate that it is the Neptunea vinlandica from Newfoundland, but the sculpture does not correspond to this species." Indeed the sculpture does not correspond to either of the two species mentioned. On the other hand a series of photos in the Femorale site are very similar. Size: 125 & 130 mm.
